History of Ibrahim Khalilullah Islamic Center

Ibrahim K.I. Center was established in 1996 in Fremont, CA. As the population of new arrivals and immigrants from Afghanistan increased in the Bay Area — especially in Fremont — the community recognized the need for a masjid and community center to serve its religious and traditional needs. A group of dedicated individuals from the city of Fremont came together to lay the foundation of IKI Center.

For many years, the center rented space in a shopping mall. In 2006, the organization purchased the building at its current location and renovated the interior into the beautiful, grand masjid it is today — known for its iconic style in the city of Fremont.
